With school starting this week, I thought it would be a good time to give some simple ideas to help your children succeed in school. You may know most or all of these but sometimes we need reminders.

* Ask you children about school and encourage them to talk about their day.
* Teach your children to be responsible for their action and their schoolwork.
* Read with your child every night.
* Stay involved and feel free to contact you child's teacher with any questions or concerns.
* Make sure your child is getting plenty of sleep and is ready for school each day.
* Help your child with his/her homework every night.
* Do not talk negatively about your child's teacher or school with your child.
