Top 5 Things To Do In Jefferson City With Kids This Week

There is lots of fun happening in Jefferson City the week of January 26th - February 1st!

1. Shout and Cheer on the University of Missouri's hockey team!

On Friday, the University of Missouri is facing off against Dallas Baptist at our very own Washington Park Ice Rink at 7:15pm. This is a great, low cost family activity while supporting MIZZOU athletics. MU students are free w/ ID, Children $5, Adults $10.

2. Celebrate Eagles at the Runge 

Have you ever seen an eagle up close? Dickerson Zoo will be onsite with live eagles, educational programing will be from 10am to 2pm. Event is free, but tickets will be needed for special programing that you can pick up day of event starting at 8am. Saturday, Jan 27. The Runge also has two separate programs running through the end of the month - while you're there, be sure to look for signs for Tales Along the Trail, as well as downloading the game application for Agents of Discovery.

3. Create your own Stop Motion Animation!

LabSpace is excited to have Eileen Shafer leading a workshop on Stop Motion Animation on Saturday, Jan 27. Eileen has won awards for her stop motion animation and has worked behind the scenes in several movies and videos. Her workshops are always fun and very hands-on. This workshop is $20 and is limited to 6 students Register HERE!

4. Musikgarten at the library!

Helen Haynes of Jefferson City Music Academy will be hosting two Musikgarten sessions at the Missouri River Regional Library on Tuesday, January 30th. The first sesson will be for children aged 0-3 years from 10:30am-11, the second session for children aged 3-6 from 11:15-12.  Events is FREE, no registration required! 

5. Treat your family, while supporting the Special Olympics

If you dine between the hours of 11am to 9pm, Prison Brews is donating a portion of their sales to the Special Olympics Missouri and KRCG's Chief Meteorologist Zach Paul reach his Polar Plunge fundraising goals.
