Dear Parents,

As a parent, you understand how life can change in an instant. When it comes to water safety, every second matters—and at Tiny Fins, we believe that the best way to protect your child is to equip them with the skills to handle those unexpected moments.

Our one-on-one survival swim lessons are designed specifically for children ages 6 months and older. Using a gentle approach, our instructor tailors each lesson to your child, teaching them essential survival skills, like floating and swimming, and building muscle memory through repetition and fun. The lessons start out at multiple days a week and switch over to weekly maintenance lessons once the core skills are learned.

Like any other new skill, the more your child practices, the stronger they become, boosting yours and your child's confidence. Weekly maintenance lessons allow your child to build on what they've learned in the initial trainings, ensuring that their skills are second nature in a life-threatening situation.

To help you understand Tiny Fins Survival Swim even more, we’ve gathered some frequently asked questions from families just like yours:

FAQS:

Will my child learn how to swim or just the survival skills?

Your child will learn true survival swim skills to save themselves in a water accident. However, they will also learn how to swim with us!

Can I watch my child's lesson?

Placing your child in the water for the first time can feel scary. That's why we invite parents to watch and offer a seating area around the pool.

How old does my child need to be to start lessons?

Children can start survival swim lessons as early as 6 months old. Ideally, every child should learn survival swim skills before they began walking and can find a source of water on there own.

What if my child cries?

New experiences could cause a child to cry: the first time they stay with a grandparent, when you buckle them into a car seat. At first, survival swim lessons will be new to your child. They may cry at first; however, our gentle approach feel more like play in the water. Your child is always safe in the water with their instructor. Most children who cry at lessons at the beginning bond with their instructor, and the tears lessen between the third and sixth lessons.

Drowning is the leading cause of death in children aged 1-4. Enrolling your child in survival swim lessons gives them the skills they need to fight that statistic head on.
