The holidays are often a whirlwind of excitement, preparation, and to-do lists that seem never-ending. For moms, the weight of making the season magical often rests heavily on their shoulders. Between organizing school parties, finding the perfect gifts, and maintaining cherished family traditions, it can be easy for moms to put themselves last. That’s why we launched the Filling Moms' Stockings Project through Macaroni KID Jefferson City.
This initiative was about more than just gifts; it was about recognizing the incredible work moms do and reminding them that they are seen, valued, and appreciated.
This project stemmed from the belief that every mom deserves a moment to feel special and supported. We invited our Macaroni KID Jefferson City community to nominate local moms who they felt deserved a special holiday surprise. The response was overwhelming (97 nominations received)—a true testament to the power of a supportive community. Five nominated moms were selected to receive a stocking filled with goodies, generously donated by local businesses and individuals who wanted to spread joy. As of Dec 18th, two of the five stockings had been delivered, the remaining three will be delivered December 19th.
The stockings included items to pamper and delight, such as self-care essentials, sweet treats, and festive surprises. But more than that, these stockings represented a message: You are not alone. We see you, and we’re cheering you on.

This year’s Filling Moms' Stockings Project was just the beginning. As we head into a new year, we’re more inspired than ever to continue finding ways to uplift the moms in our community. Because when moms thrive, families thrive—and when families thrive, so do our communities.
To every mom out there: You are amazing, and you’re doing a great job. Let’s keep cheering for one another, not just during the holidays, but every day.
