For more than a decade, Jefferson City Music Academy (JCMA) has been a cornerstone of music education in Central Missouri. Founded in 2012 by Helen Haynes, a dedicated educator with extensive experience in teaching Musikgarten since 2005, Jefferson City Music Academy has fostered a love of music in hundreds of local students. Whether it's through private lessons or the nurturing programs for young children, JCMA plays an essential role in enriching the local arts community.
Music Education for All Ages and Abilities
At Jefferson City Music Academy, music education begins as early as age 7, with private lessons available in drums, guitar, ukulele, violin, voice and piano. The academy's expert instructors work with each student to develop their unique musical talents, helping them grow in both skill and confidence.
For younger children, JCMA offers the Musikgarten program, which is designed to introduce children to the joy of music at a young age. With programs like Musik Makers and Cycle of the Seasons, children under age 7 can experience early musical development through fun, engaging activities. These programs focus on rhythm, melody, and listening skills, creating a strong foundation for future musical study.
Helen Haynes’ passion for early childhood music education has made Musikgarten a vital part of the community. Her approach nurtures a love of music that stays with children as they grow older, and her vast experience ensures that all students are receiving the highest quality education.
