Capital City Diaper Bank is a 501(c)3 non-profit that seeks to help streamline the collection and distribution of diapers to families experiencing diaper need in the mid-Missouri area. (Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy and a recent report shows that 1 in 2 U.S. families experience this need). With diapers and financial donations collected from the community, Capital City Diaper Bank supplies diapers to organizations in Mid-Missouri that serve families. These organizations can then provide diapers to families as part of their supportive services. If your family is in need of diapers and you're involved with any of the following, ask them how you can receive diapers: -Beni Births, LLC -Common Ground Community Building -Jefferson City Diapers (Bibleway Community Church diaper pantry) -Jefferson City Schools Parents as Teachers -Little Explorers Discovery Center -Pregnancy Help Center of Central Missouri -The Salvation Army If you aren't already connected to one of these agencies/programs, the Pregnancy Help Center will be able to provide you with a package of diapers. Capital City Diaper Bank raises awareness of diaper need through social media, presentations to community groups and informational booths at community events in mid-Missouri. Donations of diapers, disposable training pants, and baby wipes are received via individual donation and diaper drives hosted by local individuals and organizations wishing to support the diaper bank. We accept open packages of diapers from smoke-free homes as well as unopened packages. (Perfect for when your child has outgrown a size or you've discovered a sensitivity to a certain brand). Financial donations and grant funding purchase diapers, and a variety of volunteer groups help prepare items for distribution to our partner agencies. Gerbes shoppers can also support us at no cost to them by linking their Plus card with our 5-digit NPO (UC978) through their online community rewards program.
